Minimal realism was how wildlife artist Charley Harper defined his style. I don t count feathers, he said, I just count the wings. Born in rural West Virginia, Harper (1922 2007) developed an unmistakable style, capturing an animal s essence with geometric shapes and vivid colors. «Beautiful!»

I hadn't heard of Charley Harper before searching for wall calendars on Amazon and went out on a limb by purchasing this design. I'm so glad I did! My two year old loved looking at the pictures when we received the calendar and I'm sure they will be just as engaging as we flip through them in the coming year.
