«buy ten copies... listen to them all at the same time... just because»
this album is absolutely brilliant... my words cannot possibly do justice to the passionate love i hold for this record.
i'll throw up... seriously.
so, like... buy ten copies and stuff them all in your cd player... if you break the cd player it will have been worth it... somehow.
or get ten cd players... and listen to all ten copies all at the same time... I can't even stand it.
ok... now,
When surveying the careers of skinny puppy and their little cloud of associated artists and side projects one might notice that there's a pretty wide range in style.. so it can be hard to gauge what even a hardcore SP fan is going to really dig.
My guess is that those who put Last Rights at the top of the universe will rejoice in this album...
For all others... I have no idea what you like, so, whatever. buy it anyway... even if you hate it you'll be better off in life.
It's mega-different from the other two ohGr discs, no doubt. But I didn't buy this album because I wanted to listen to the other two... that's a little bit crazy...
complete genius... a 5 star rating is not worthy.

«Relax, open your mind, and enjoy»
There's not too much to say about this album that hasn't already been said. This album is absolutely brilliant - my only frustration is with the lack of lyrics almost two months after the release. From what I can make of the lyrics, they are WONDERFUL. You don't have to be a writer (though I am one) to appreciate the ingenius juxtapositions and extended metaphors. The music may not seem as "danceable" as the previous two albums, but that's for other people to decide - I can dance to pretty much anything, lol.
I do have to say that, for me, this was an album that I initially was VERY disappointed with. However, unlike say - Mythmaker - I did not stay disappointed for long. This is actually my favorite ohGr CD now, so you can tell it REALLY grew on me once I let go of my "expectations" of how it "should" sound and opened my mind a bit more.

«Strike one»
I am almost obsessive about my love for oHgr. Their first 2 albums were extremely well thought out, progressive, deep & danceable. I would consider them 2 of the best albums ever made. Unfortunately, this album followed a more repetitive monotone style reminiscent of the Skinny Puppy. I was hoping to hear something awe-inspiring using advanced orchestration techniques that would stick in my head. Maybe on their next album!
