«thank God it was free»
this was truly a disappointment. i am having trouble even finishing this book. i am more than half way through and could not stand the teenage writing level and lack of character development. i actually get annoyed from reading this book, not because of any charcters but because i feel like i am wasting my time as a human being. this is my fist review because i hated this book so much. it is great for teenage and preteen girls. it is very hard typing this review from my kindle but i am hoping i can save some other people the time that i wasted.

«Very well-written, engaging, and uplifting book!»
The author makes the characters really come out of the page. I can see and feel the story as I read it. You can see her friends, realatives, and co-workers, it's like you were just a few feet away from her. It is very accurate from a cultural and human perspective. It has a good blend of real human want & desire, yet from a Christian perspective. Helps readers know that Christians are real people too! I can't wait to finish this book and get into the other two!

«I thought the writing was unsophisticated»
I thought the writing of this book was unsophisticated. I liked the story but wished the author took more time in story development. The stories within the story needed more development. I found the progression of events was awkward. Character development, especially of pivotal men, was poor. The reader would have liked some insight in Oliver's character before he revealed his true colors and we would have liked to know how Aiden felt after certain dramatic events occured. As far as Aiden, Trish, Grandma, Richard and the Father were concerned, we were left to our own assumptions. Too many charaters should have been developed or at least explained. Also, the traumatic event, that shaped the main characters' life, was never really dealt with so the reader could understand the reasons behind her psychosis. I think the author needs to mature in her writing.
