«Great pics, easy-to-follow and hands-down delicious»
I had never heard of Ellie when I stumbled across her book looking for a low-fat spicy salad dressing recipe. After looking into her a bit more, I thought her philosophy sounded like mine - eat real food, prepare it with flair, and all things are ok in balance and moderation. No recipe calls for stuff like "acceptable fat" or "sugar substitute" or any of the things you so often see. She uses real foods, and uses them really well.
I have made several recipes out of here already: chicken pot pie, sloppy joes, garlic fries, and apple turnovers. Every recipe has been amazingly delicious! I mean like put-your-fork-down-in-amazment good.
I will tell you, this is not for the novice cook. The recipes are not hard, but they are also not "open a can of this, mix in water, and voila!" type of recipes. They require a lot of cutting, mixing, and bits of this and that.
But if you like to cook, and you like to eat healthy but aren't willing to sacrifice flavor (and like me, you want to avoid putting substitute food in for real food) this book is IT. I can't recommend it highly enough.

«Very Tasty and Healthier!»
I have really enjoyed this cookbook! I have made 6 recipes - The Thai/coconut chicken, Asian greens, turkey meatloaf, French fries, steak tacos and carrot cupcakes. All were very good and especially loved the turkey meatloaf, fries, coconut chicken and carrot cupcakes(for my son's 2nd birthday)! I got into a recipe rut and this has helped out tremendously. Healthier can be easy and tasty. I am an RD and love to cook - her book is fun, informative and full of good recipes. Highly recommended!

«For the Person who loves food!»
What an awesome cookbook and guide to better eating. I wish she would do a children's cookbook to teach adults what to do. If we help our kids we will not have the obesity problems we do now.
